Male and Female Circumcision

The most comprehensive monography on this item, to my knowledge, is:

Sami Aldeeb, Male and Female Circumcision in the Jewish, Christian and Muslim Communities, Religious debate, Beirut, 2000 (ISBN 1 85513 406 3), 562 pages, 15 US-$.

The author, Dr. Sami A. Aldeeb Abu-Sahlieh, is Legal Adviser for Arab and Islamic Law at the Swiss Institute of Comparative Law, Dorigny, 1015 Lausanne, Switzerland.

The book is in Arabic and contains 25 annexes of about 100 pages: old and recent texts, fatwas and opinions on this subject from the Muslim world, two of them never published before. The foreword is written by the famous Egyptian physician and writer, Dr. Nawal El-Saadawi.

The new book is published by one of the best Arab Publishers: Riad El-Rayyes Books.
